Whether you're a multi-office brokerage, small office, team or even a solo agent you need to have a Facebook Business Page for real estate. If you've never set one up before, you may not know how to and that's why we've put together this handy article to help you do just that!

If you've never set one up before, you may not know how to and that's why we've put together this handy article to help you do just that!
The first thing you
need to know is the difference between a personal Facebook page and a
business Facebook page. Many businesses don't know how to set up
their Business Page so they just end up signing up for a second
personal account and using that for their business. This option
doesn't allow you to acquire likes (or followers that will see your
posts in their News Feeds) nor does it allow you the ability to
promote your page through Facebook advertising tools.
The next important tip
is to make sure to set up your Facebook Business Page for Real Estate
through your personal Facebook account as this will allow you to
invite some (or all) of your current friends to like your business
page in one easy step (we'll cover this in a separate article).
Additionally it gives you the ability to control your Facebook
Business Page for Real Estate through your personal account without
having to log in and out as a different user.
- Log in to your personal Facebook page (setting this up is easiest to do on a desktop or laptop computer as opposed to on a smartphone)
- Click on “Create Ad” from the navigation bar that goes down the left side of your screen
- Look for “Create Page” at the bottom of the page and click on it
- Click on the “Local Business or Place” button
- Select “Real Estate” from the category dropdown menu
- Fill out your business name, address and phone number, agree to the terms and click on the “Get Started Button”
- Enter categories, descriptions, a link to your existing website and the name of page (I'd suggest using your business name in the address of the URL) and click on “Save Info”
- Upload or import a profile pictures (either a logo, group photo or portrait for solo agent)
- Click on “Add to Favorites” so you'll have easy future access to your Business Page
- Press “Skip” on the Creating an Ad page (we'll cover this separately)

You'll now find
yourself at the Admin Panel for your new page. Here you'll be able
to update your page (change profile pictures, add/edit cover photo,
add/edit bio, invite friends, post statuses and more).
As you know, businesses of all sizes right from McDonald’s and Coca-Cola down to your local hardware store are trying to get a presence on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Think of how many ‘Fan pages’ and advertisements you have seen on Facebook
